I was thinking of making side quests that are optional themed adventures. Something along the lines of some rumor about an object that would travel through Halcyon, and characters could go on a quest for it and it would significantly boost the stats of the character. I don't know if this would work, because a lot of people have their own adventures kinda planned ahead a bit, so they may not want to deviate from that. Also, we don't put much emphasis on stats since people seem to be strong in all fields. So what does everybody think?

i think quests are a good idea. i mean, it would give reason to travel and communicate with others. also, then i could have something to do instead of eating rats...i mean mice. hmph. we could also give quests to collect some things (feather of a angelix wing, stone toenail of a golem, fur from a kitsune, etc. ) for a prize. i think it should be a mysterious prize decided by the board leaders though. i'm taking this idea from a game i used to play. they make it so the character asks for something, and depending on what they ask for, the degree of difficulty is different. just some suggestions. ~ ;D

Oh ouch! I just pictured taking a toenail from a golem. >_< Haha that sounds more like a Scavenger Hunt, but it does sound fun. I could so see my avatar running around with a pair of scissors, just snipping off peoples' fur. ;D I was going to make the "prize" pre-stated, cause if it was a surprise that was provided by the owners of the board, it would just have to be Kit. Cause I'd just be mean for fun like "Oh you collected all the things? Okay you get... SARS. hahaha, have fun with that ;D "

oh my...goodness gracious. ^-^;; i feel like a granny. moving on to more relevant topics, quests would be fun to do. the prizes KiT would be giving out would not be. ;D later on maybe the game could get even more difficult with disasters. haha. ~

i say go for it. it sounds pretty interesting. only how about, say, you have to battle to get those kind of items? so that way, it can be more interesting than walking around asking for those items. then that'd just be relatively simple and boring.
also, the administrators can be the species that has that item. that way they have more power over what happens and who wins the battle and junk like that.

Hmmm... Yeah I'm still trying to plan this out. I don't want to be the one to fight, because I think I might be biased. What I might do is initiate a new battle system. AIM dice and a combination of stats... That sounds fun. I'll try to plan that out. ;D

aim dice? that sounds cool (never heard of it). but stat wise, i'm not so sure of. none of us really put our stats up... do we have to make them up? cause then couldn't you make your character indestructable?
hm... i just thought of a solution to my own problem.... [sheepish laugh] you could give us a certain amount of points (say 10) and let us split it evenly. for example:
strength: 5 defense: 3 magic: 2
and then if they were battling in their area you could add an extra one point. or something along those lines.

Exactly! That's actually what I've kinda wanted from the start. But this rp isn't really big on battling =/ Well I don't know. But basically you get defined stats based on your species and weapon class. Then you get a certain number of stat points to allocate on your own for individuality. Basically the stat areas would be Strength, Agility, Health, and Spirit. AIM dice is a built in program for aim, that rolls a die from between specified numbers and chooses a number at random. Obviously, your weapon would alter your strength and agility. For example, with a heavy blade, your agility would go down, but when you roll the dice, you increase the max and min numbers, and therefore, do more damage. If you use the twin blades, your speed goes up, and you may even have the opportunity to do two turns of damage while your opponent only does one, but your attacks will do significantly less damage than say, an axe. Of course, this is still up to Kit, since this is her world.

heyy... that sounds pretty neat now... [grin] i'm all into battling. although i'm not very good... i'm more of the wolf battler. like... i'm more accustomed to attacking the neck to rip out the-- well... let's not go there. [coughs]
wow. it sounds complicated but a whole bunch more fun than... what we have now. wandering round randomly. i hope kit goes with it. we can just try it out for a while, and if she doesn't like it, we can get rid of it.
as for the rolling dice concept, is it online so both attackers can see? cause otherwise, someone may cheat (although it's highly unlikely cause all the players here are honest people. well... at least i hope).

AIM Dice is a side program built into AIM for the chat rooms. enter a chat room and type "//roll" and the computer will roll two 6-sided dice. If this idea goes through, I'll post the battle system I've developed.
